Mameshiba
|
Originally, mameshiba meant a young Shiba dog. Since 2008, the mameshiba (豆しば) is also a family of characters created by Dentsu Inc. (www.dentsu.co.jp), one of the Japan’s largest marketing agency. Knowing that mame (豆) means bean, we are not surprised those cute characters have the body of a bean and the face of a dog. They have been introduced to the Japanese market through television ads always ending by the same question ね、知ってる? “Hey, did you know?” followed by a short anecdote like “A canary that can’t sing well will be single forever…”.
