Origins by Rick Davidson
Rick Davidson, a designer from New Zealand has done some research on early playing cards and decided to give a modernised version of the earliest International or English pattern, i.e. the Rouen pattern from the 16th century. The result is the Origins playing cards which merge modern standards with the elegance of the originals cards saved in many museums. Two decks were printed; the first edition with a metallic ink colour scheme and the Grail deck with a subtly different silver accented metallic colour scheme. The result is nice and gives a monochromatic touch which contracts from the vivid colours of old cards.
