Lost Code Tarot by Andrea Aste
This pack of tarot by Andrea Aste, an Italian artist, is part of an ambitious multi-media project around the works of a fictional Alchemist in a parallel world. This project includes a 160-page illustrated book about a mysterious manuscript. Both the pack and the manuscript are coded with a complex cipher. More details can be found in www.andreaaste.com. When I first saw the cards, I thought of a tribute to Pablo Picasso but in fact, the artist got inspired by the da Vinci's notebooks and the Voynich manuscript. That’s why the artist had used black and red ink only on dirty sepia background. The pattern follows more or less the Marseille one. The trump cards are quite easy to recognise but not the figures who look like fantastic creatures with strange costumes. Two additional cards have been added during the crowd-funding campaign.
