Ridley’s playing cards by Joe Snow
Everyone is always happy to retrieve objects from its youth. Therefore, many designers try to reproduce the style of the 50s, 60s and 70s to please a large public. Joe Snow (www.mrjoesnow.com) is one of them. He is a UK-based freelance designer and illustrator working in a colourful, 1960s retro-inspired style. He designed for Ridley’s House of Novelties many traditional games, toys and jokes, including a pack of playing cards. The dominant colour is blue and all characters are holding a different object from hatchet to ice cream cone. Four additional cards give the rules for “go fish”, “spoons”, “crazy kings” and “old maid”.
