Papier Arti e Mistieri
Papier Arti a Mistieri is a small printer from the Florence area (Italy). Around 2000 this company published at least three packs of cards (Paris 1900, hot air balloons, romance, etc.). A good point is the choice of the paper: quite thick, with a very crafty look and texture. My friend told me it is an expensive paper specific to this Italian city. A bad point is the laziness of the designer who choose only 13 or 14 pictures to illustrate one pack. From the shopkeeper, some packs have only 52 cards. The suit signs and indices are overprinted onto the picture which make them sometime hard to read. Those packs look like made by an artist but they are just the reproduction of old postcards. On the other hand, this is a different and more luxurious souvenir than the traditional one with colour photographies.
