Dokdo Islands
|
The Dokdo Islands (독도) is a group of small islands between Japan and South Korea. They are currently administrated by South Korea but sovereignty is disputed between both countries. Today, less than 10 people are living there and this is more a nature reserve. To enforce the popularity of those islands, a pack of Hwatu (hanafuda) cards have been published. In those cards, some typical features of the hwatu type have been replaced by local animals. For example, the frog of the willow (December) suit have been replaced by a fish. The six jokers presents the Korean flag and the islands. The cards are 100% PVC.
